The dress

Ever since the engagement last Spring, Swedish media have been speculating on who would be designing Crown Princes Victoria's wedding dress, an international couture house or a Swedish designer. The choice fell upon Swedish Per Engsheden who created a modern, minimalistic dream in pearl white silk duchesse. The bridal bouquet was composed mainly of Swedish summer flowers. The veil is the same as Queen Silvia wore for her wedding to the Swedish King in 1976 and was created for Sofia of Nassau when she married Prince Oscar (II) in 1858. The crown was a gift from emperor Napoleon to his wife Josephine in 1809 and was brought to Sweden by her niece Josefina when she married Prince Oscar (I) in 1823. It is composed by gold, pearls and camés. Images: Scanpix.
